Wellbeing Coaching for Children and Teenagers

A Professional Coach for

Children and Adolescents

From Teacher to Coach

Transitioning from teaching to coaching came from a desire to better meet the needs of those students who were not thriving in at school.

My experience as an educator allows me to coach with a realistic understanding of what young clients are facing as well as the opportunities that can be made for them through home and school collaboration.

I specialise in coaching children (ages 8-11) and adolescents (ages 12-19) who are struggling with their personal, family or school lives.  Coaching provides clients with tools and the capacity to improve stress, mild anxiety, low self-esteem, poor academic performance, attention/focus issues, low motivation, emotional regulation, self-control, disorganisation, and much more.

Young people with ADHD and learning disabilities evolve into self-advocates and explore their potential by harnessing their strengths, learning how they learn, being self-responsible and nurturing their own self-esteem.

Coaching support includes helping clients become more self-aware, building essential life skills, learning to identify their needs and communicate them effectively, setting goals and achieving them, as well as how to take care of their physical and mental well-being.

When coaching, I compassionately inquire into the client’s situation, interests and passions, areas of strength, and hopes for the future, then assist them in creating a strengths-focused, solution-oriented plan to get from where they are now, to where they want to be in the future.

Why I created A Global Village

I created A Global Village Coaching with the belief that it takes a village to raise a child, but in today’s world, family, community, and support networks are complicated. Many families are lacking “a village”,  leaving them feeling isolated and unable to get the support they need. A Global Village Coaching can help you build a community of support for your family.

Originally from a small village in western Canada, since 2006, I have had the privilege of living aboard and working as an international school educator in Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and Denmark.  I have taught and coached children from over 45 different countries, each with their own languages, cultures, learning needs, personalities, and passions.

I am currently located in Canada, but able to provide online coaching to families or schools anywhere in the world.

I look forward to meeting you – Colleen Murphy (she/her)
